Apple Salad with Honey Yogurt Dressing

This apple salad is fresh, fruity and fun.  It is a lightened up version of a waldorf salad that is dressed with yogurt, honey and cinnamon. It is one of our favorite fruit salads!

I love salads with fruit in them.  Some greens topped with fruit, nuts and a light dressing and I am all over it.  That is what I order almost every time I go out to eat.  I can't help it, I just love them!  This is even better.  Why waste the room on greens when you can just go for the good stuff?!

This is along the lines of a Waldorf salad, but lighter.  It is fruit in a light coating of yogurt, vanilla, honey, lemon and cinnamon.  It is soooo good and you can feel good about eating it!

He loves apples, grapes and pears.  He also loves yogurt.  I had a feeling he would really like it the first time we had it, but sometimes the kid throws you a curve.  At two years old, he ate a whole pizza bread and two helpings of apple salad for dinner.  Then a smoothie.  I think he is going through a growth spurt!

It's safe to say that Little Dude still loves it!  This is a recipe we still make frequently.  He asks for it and since it is made quickly and with ingredients we normally have on hand, he gets it more often than not.

Sometimes we add more fruit in.  He requested strawberries a couple of weeks ago and we love them in there.  We have also added bananas.  Toss in whatever you like, so far everything we've tried is good!

If you want to add those greens into the salad, we have that for you too!  The fresh and fun fall dinner salad is one of our favorites and it is loaded with apples, homemade dressing and all of the good stuff! You might also like the red, white and blueberry dinner salad or the beet and persimmon salad.  Or for more great apple recipes, be sure to check out the appleweek recipes

  7. Does this need to be made right before serving or can it be made several hours in advance?
