Monster Cookie Dip

This fun dessert dip is always a huge hit. It is like eating monster cookie dough in dip form and there are so many fun things you can serve with it. Don’t worry, I won’t blame you if one of those is a spoon.

Monster cookie dip is a super fun snack for all of the monster cookie lovers in your life. It is kind of like getting permission to eat cookie dough.

It is loaded with peanut butter, oats, chocolate chips and M&M’s just like the cookies. Then you can use graham crackers, vanilla wafers, pretzels, apple slices, cinnamon pita chips and more to dip right in.

It is fun to bring to a potluck or set it out at a party for people to munch on. Then sit back and watch as people give it a try and then keep going back for more.

MiMi shared this recipe with us back in 2016.  Little Dude and I thought it was way past time to make it again.

So we whipped some up and made a video while we did it.  It comes together so quickly and it tastes amazing.  We just knew we should share it again so you could make some for yourself!

What To Do With Leftover Monster Cookie Dough Dip

This monster cookie dip usually goes pretty fast in our house, but it does make a relatively big batch. The leftovers can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

It makes a great after school snack for the kiddos or an after work snack for the adults! So likely it will be gone before it goes bad.

Otherwise, you can freeze chunks of the dip on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. Once they are frozen, transfer them to a freezer bag and put back in the freezer.

Then you can just snack on your cookie dough bites whenever. Or sprinkle them over a bowl of vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat.

Or break it into chunks and use it as the cookie dough bits in monster cookie ice cream rather than making the dough bites called for in the recipe.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can you use in place of the peanut butter?

Peanut butter gives you the traditional monster cookie flavor, but you could also try almond butter, cashew butter of sun butter. If you want to avoid nuts and seeds all together, it would be fun to try cookie butter though that will change the flavor profile considerably.

How can I thin the dip out?

As written, this monster cookie dough dip recipe makes a thick dip that is similar in texture to the actual cookie dough. If you would like for it to be a little bit softer, there are a couple of options. You can either reduce the amount of oatmeal in the dip or you can add milk a tablespoon or two at a time until you reach the desired consistency.

Is this gluten free?

There is no flour in this dip, so as long as the remaining ingredients were made in gluten free facilities the dip won’t contain gluten.

More fun dessert dips and spreads

We really love serving sweet dips and cheese balls at parties.  They are easier to serve than fancy baked desserts plus they are easier for people to munch on without having to commit to a big piece.

The fact that they can almost always be made ahead is a big bonus as well!  And the variety of things you can use as dippers is almost endless.  You can use anything from fruit to cookies and pretzels.

Or there is always peanut butter and yogurt dip. We love it on fruit, but it would also be great on any of these dippers!
