If you are looking to make a treat that still allows you to feel good about what you are putting in your body, this homemade raspberry sorbet is perfect! It is the perfect balance of sweet and a tiny bit tart.

It is loaded with fruit and the goodness of honey. Luckily it is super simple to make and tastes fresh and delicious.

I hope your holiday season was festive and fabulous. For us it was certainly different but was wonderful nonetheless.

We have definitely been enjoying making frozen treats recently. Homemade ice creams, sherbets and sorbets are all such tasty treats.

Frozen raspberries, lemon juice and honey ready to be made into sorbet.

Luckily they are usually easy to make and are perfect to dip into for a little treat. Heading into the new year we thought it would be fun to make something healthier so you can stay on track with your goals but still enjoy a frozen treat.

It is made with fresh or frozen berries, water, honey and a splash of lemon juice. That’s really it!

You even make this sorbet without an ice cream maker if you don’t have one. Just use frozen berries and go straight from the food processor to your storage container and inti the freezer.

Using the ice cream maker just helps to ensure the best final texture. So if you have one you might as well bust it out!

The result is cool and delicious. It is super fruity and not too overly sweet.

The berries and lemon help give it that sweet and tart balance. It is so good!

MiMi originally shared this recipe with us back in 2016. She was in her own ice cream making phase and was really putting her Kitchenaid attachment to use.

All of her recipes were so good, we decided to work our way back through them now that we have an ice cream maker of our own.

It has been a delicious undertaking to dust off the old posts and give them new life. If you love frozen treats as much as we do, you should make them all too!

What are your favorite homemade frozen treats? We’re always up for trying more!

MiMi’s post from 2016:

I’m sure you have heard the saying that great minds think alike. I guess that it’s true.

When I got out the pink velvet ice cream with cream cheese frosting at our Valentine’s Day get together both my husband, Pops, and son-in-law, Matt, were excited that I had made raspberry sorbet. It baffles me how they both incorrectly thought I had made raspberry sorbet and were excited about it.

As it turned out they both liked the ice cream that night but I knew I would be making raspberry sorbet for our next get together.

I was a little bit disappointed that Matt was unable to make it to our family dinner when I was so excited to surprise him with raspberry sorbet but I was sure to send plenty home for him to enjoy. As it turns out it was a big hit for everybody who ate it.

I went straight to work the next week coming up with a strawberry orange sorbet. I am sure that there will be some blackberry sorbet as soon as they ripen on our vines.

Sorbet is such a nice fruity and refreshing treat. I am sure that my family will be requesting it quite often in the future.

I will be happy to oblige. It’s quick and easy to make and has a lot of fruit in it.

As with my ice cream recipes, I like to sweeten with honey instead of processed sugar. I hope to experiment a little more with using maple syrup as a sweetener too.

Can I use other fruit in this sorbet?

Yes! You can try using other frozen berries if you would like. Frozen strawberries would work great or try mixed berries.

Great sorbet storage options

My mom loves the Tovolo Glide-A-Scoop containers that fit in the freezer well, stack easily and store nicely.  She already has a couple and is getting ready to order more.

I got fun quart sized containers that are reusable and dishwasher safe that I like as well. No matter how it’s stored, sorbet tends to disappear quickly around here!

More Fun Fruity Frozen Treats

Strawberry sherbet is another simple berry dessert. It only takes a few ingredients, or try blackberry ice cream if you have a bounty of the summer berries.

For a non berry related option, try making peach ice cream. It is so fresh and summery.

Lime sherbet bars are another fun treat. Or check out my collection of ice cream recipes for all sorts of inspiration.

I have an ice cream maker that I've used only a few times but I've not ever tried sorbet! I'll be giving this a whirl for sure! Pinning!

MiMi makes the best ice cream! She posted a brownie batter one that was SOOOOO good, and one that uses hot chocolate mix too. I really like how easy and refreshing the sorbets are though, so I hope you love them!
