Sorbet is a cold and flavorful way to eat you fruit and enjoy it too! This recipe is super simple and includes only strawberries, orange juice and honey.

The results are a perfect way to cool down on a warm day. They are also a great way to indulge your sweet tooth without any guilt.

MiMi originally shared this recipe in March of 2016.  I thought it was time to come back and make it again.

While I was at it, I took new pictures and added a printable recipe card so you can make it whenever you would like.

two scoops of sorbet in small bowl.

MiMi’s post from 2016:

I made a strawberry crumble for dessert and had extra strawberries.  I just couldn’t resist trying another sorbet after the raspberry sorbet was such a hit.

To change things up a little, I decided to use orange juice as the liquid this time.  The flavors of the strawberries and orange juice went really well together.

Sorbet might be a new family favorite.  I heard one person say they liked this even better than the raspberry sorbet.

Others like the raspberry sorbet best.  Time to create a new flavor to add to this debate.

Ice cream maker recommendations

MiMi loves her kitchenaid ice cream maker attachments. She has two and keeps them both in rotation.

She used one to make the original batch of sorbet with great success. She highly recommends getting one if you have the right kitchenaid stand mixer.

I have a cuisinart ice cream maker that I really like as well. You freeze the bowl ahead of time so you don’t have to mess with ice and salt.

I’ll be honest that the motor is a bit louder than I expected. However it makes great textured ice creams, sorbets, and frozen yogurt and doesn’t take up a ton of room in storage.

Tips and tricks

Have fun with this recipe. You could very easily substitute in other berries for the strawberries.

Think of how delicious a mixed berry version of this sorbet would be. Anything that would combine well with orange juice would work.

If you use frozen berries, the food processor will do most of the work of making the sorbet. You could almost serve it right from the processor bowl.

It would likely freeze slightly harder if you froze it without churning it. I suppose it wouldn’t be that much different than making pumpkin nice cream or peanut butter chocolate nice cream.

Have you ever made homemade sorbet? What flavors should we try next?
