16 Brilliant Back To School Ideas

Here are some great back to school ideas! Everything from breakfast to lunch, after school snacks and dinner ideas too! There are fun DIY ideas as well. There is something for everyone!

Judging by my Facebook feed, school is back in session for more folks than not. For those few lucky kids (and teachers!) who aren't back in the grind yet, the days are numbered.  For millions of families, that means that daily schedules have changed and things are a bit more hectic.

Whether you are looking for fun breakfast ideas, great lunch box fillers or quick dinners to fill up the family between homework and dance class, we have you covered!  We even have a planner for teachers and a fun way to jazz up your pens as well.

Next year I'll be putting Little Dude on the bus for the first time. I think it would be fun to have a first day of school tradition. Maybe it will be a special breakfast or a fun treat afterwards.  Maybe it will be a picture with one of those fun picture boards or special surprise in his book bag. I have a year to think of something fun. Do you have any special back to school traditions? I'd love to hear about yours!

Here are some of my favorites from our link-up!

Chewy maple cinnamon cookies are a perfect lunch box treat. They are also great for the cookie jar when the kiddos come home.

  1. Such GREAT ideas and I LOVE your snack mix!! Hope this weekend brings you lots of smiles!!

    1. Thanks, Andrea! We had a really nice weekend. I hope you did too!

  2. Lots of great posts linked up this month! We always have waffles on the 1st day of school for breakfast, take a 1st day of school picture in the driveway as we wait for the bus and then after school we always make a fun snack. We also let the kids pick out supper for that night too. And as for the 1st day of school pictures, I just doctor mine up in PicMonkey vs creating some type of sign or board. :)

    1. I love the idea of just fixing the pictures up on PicMonkey. My handwriting is terrible so that is much more my speed! I like the waffles idea too. What fun!

  3. Lots of great ideas. Even though I'm not a teacher, I love the planner. We have a couple of traditions. A photo of the first day with a sign, a favorite dinner the night before the first day and my Hershey bar pie for dessert the first day. (I also make that for the last day, too!

    1. Mmmm, I could definitely get behind the pie tradition. I am both looking forward to and dreading the start of school!

  4. This is the first year where "Back to School" is a thing for us, so no traditions yet, but I'm excited to start some.
Thanks for featuring BnC's Banana Chocolate Chip Bran Muffins! I've shared your post with my FB readers, as part of a Back to School month that I'm doing over there.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!

    1. This is our first "back to school" too! I am so excited and nervous all at the same time!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment. I love reading your ideas!
