Super simple no churn ice cream sweetened with the goodness of dulce de leche and studded with bits of sugar cones, mini chocolate chips and a chocolate swirl. Make your sundae dreams come true with every bite!

Scooping out a scoop of sundae ice cream with chocolate chips, chocolate swirl, bits of sugar cone, and caramel inside.

This no churn dulce de leche ice cream doesn’t require any ice cream machine. Plus it has rich of caramel and chocolate. Add to that some chocolate chips and bits of sugar cone and you are really in business.  it’s like eating your favorite sundae cone in every bite!

It turns out when you make multiple batches of dulce de leche just to see what difference the amount of baking soda you add makes,  you find yourself with lots of dulce de leche to use. I know, it’s a really tough problem to have.

I am not one to waste food, especially sweet goodness like dulce de leche, so of course I had to do something! I really had no choice.

Armed with the dangerous knowledge that I can make delicious ice cream at home with no special equipment. (I told you that a whole frightening new world had opened up to me after the peanut butter chocolate chip ice cream!)

I decided to give it one more go before I try to forget that I too can make cold, sweet, delicious goodness.

I figured if cream and sweetened condensed milk could make yummy ice cream, cream and dulce de leche could make even better ice cream. After all, a lot of people make their dulce de leche from a can of sweetened condensed milk.

Do you know what happened? It worked!

three scoops of ice cream drizzled with hot fudge.

So I whipped the cream and folded in the darker batch of homemade dulce de leche.  The lighter batch was perfect in the Rolo poke cake, how would this batch be in ice cream?

Amazing, of course!

It was tempting to eat the bowl as it was, no freezer or mix-in’s needed, but that wouldn’t be fair to my ice cream loving guys. So I broke up some sugar cones and stirred them in along with some mini chocolate chips.

Then I transferred it all to a loaf pan and drizzled on some hot fudge. A quick run of a knife swirled it in and the whole thing was ready for the freezer.

two ice cream cones with a large scoop of ice cream on each.

We enjoyed ours in cones the next day. It was sooooo hot, so a cold treat was extra welcome.  Little dude thought it was so fun to eat ice cream in a cone. Apparently we don’t get out much! 😉

Whether you serve it in a cone or bowl, this ice cream comes highly recommended by our family!
