Easy Family Meal Plan Week 42

With six family friendly dinner recipes and one perfectly fall dessert, we have this week's menu planned for you!

What a weekend already! Have you been having fun too?  We had a Halloween party with Little Dude's daycare friends yesterday. They had snacks, did some art, sang songs, played games and had a blast.  After that my husband hosted a bags tournament.  We call them bags, but I have heard them call corn-hole.  Do you know the game? You throw bean bags at a board. If it lands on the board you get a point, if it goes in the hole it's three points.  If you throw it where most of mine land, otherwise known as on the grass by the board, no points are scored.

It was a really cold day for the tournament, but we had a good turn-out anyway.  A tiny bit of spitting sleet wasn't going to keep us away.  Besides, my husband has really been looking forward to this for quite some time.  I made some of my Aunt Jenny's smacky delicious mix, a skull cake, some deviled egg potato salad and we had the hot dog roller going.  My brother brought over his smoker and some wings.  He is a good brother and neighbor to have around!

I started strong with a win, but lost my second in a hard-fought battle.  The third game was a bit of a landslide and in the wrong direction.  I lost my mojo somewhere along the way.  So my day ended early.  My husband however was throwing great and ended up with the win.

Today I am hoping to get some recipes put together for an event coming later in the month.  I am really excited and hope my ideas come together like I have envisioned.  We'll see how it all works out. Later on we plan on carving some pumpkins.  Have you carved yours yet? We usually just freehand faces but Little Dude has his heart set on using some of those stencils this year.  We'll see what we end up with!

I hope you've been having a great weekend as well.  Tell me all about it in the comments if you'd like! Otherwise I'll move on to the menu...

We'll kick the week off with the flavor explosion from Jonesin' for Taste. This Chicken Fajita Pasta with Cilantro Lime Sauce looks out of this world! Little Man won't eat the peppers, but otherwise this will be a happy dinner at our house!

Next up will be one of our favorite fall salad combinations. This is a quick dinner to whip up and the homemade dressing is the perfect balance of sweet and tart.  It just goes so well with the fruit and cheese. YUM!

We'll go back to fresh and crisp with the Cranberry Chicken and Pecan Wrap from Mildly Meandering.  I can already tell I'm going to want a couple of these for work lunches as well!

Woohoo! I could really go for some of these BBQ Sloppy Joes from Recipe Treasures ASAP.  Sloppy Joes are always a hit here and I don't think to make them as often as I should!

We'll round out the week with this Slow Cooker Meatball Stew from Seduction in the Kitchen. What a fun way to end the week!

To celebrate making it to another weekend, we'll go all in on this Easy Pumpkin Dump Cake from New South Charm.  I am a pumpkin fan, a cake fan and a fan of easy... so this is going to be good!
