The Christmas season is always such a fun and magical time of year. Keeping that magic alive doesn’t have to be hard.

These fun Rudolph cupcakes are super simple to make and will spread cheer with everyone who enjoys one.

With a kindergartner in the house, Christmas is extra fun. It doesn’t hurt that our Little Dude is Christmas obsessed all year long.

For those of you who haven’t been around too long, my son wanted to be Santa for Halloween two years ago and was the Grinch dressed as Santa the following year. It is like Christmas all of the time around here.

My husband who loves Halloween was so relieved when he was a vampire this year. Finally Christmas didn’t bleed into his favorite holiday.

With all of his excitement, it is hard to not get wrapped up in the spirit of things. Of course we make plenty of cookies to eat and share, but my heart belongs to frosting (and the cake that goes with it!)

My frosting loving heart thought it would be fun to do something a little bit different this year and throw some cupcakes into the mix. These fun Rudolph cupcakes and the Santa’s belt cupcakes I shared last week are both super simple ways to spread some cheer!

Either would be darling for class parties, work parties or the big day itself.  All you need is a batch of your favorite cupcakes to get started.

I definitely recommend either semi-homemade white cupcakes or devilishly good chocolate cupcakes. Then whip up a batch of silky smooth fudge frosting

You could definitely just give the cupcakes a schmear of frosting if you’d like. I find it just as fast and easy to pipe a quick swirl on.

Then a red candy and a few pretzels drive the look home. Just try not to smile as you eat one, I dare you!

I think you could even get away with letting the kids decorate these as the class party so they double as an activity and a treat.  There’s an idea for you room moms!

Do you have any fun and simple ways you like to decorate cupcakes for the holidays?
