3+14 Pies for Pi(e) Day

There are so many pies and so little time. Let's celebrate some of the best pie recipes out there with this sweet and savory pie collection.

There are so many delicious pies with all sorts of different fillings. Pies can come in sweet or savory. Crusts can be flaky or made of cookie crumbs. I think we should try them all! Today I am sharing 17 perfect pies in celebration of pi{e} day!

March 14 is a fabulous day to make a pie in honor of pi. The annual celebration of 3.14 is a great excuse to make and eat all the pies.

When I was still in school, it was a great excuse for us to have pie carry-ins. Today it's still a great excuse to break out the pie tin and get baking!

So I thought I'd collect 3+14 pie recipes for you today to stay on theme. Good luck deciding which one to make first!

After you check them all out, I'd love to hear about your all time favorite pies in the comments. I'm always looking for new recipes to try!

Savory Pies

slice of creamy chicken pot pie on a plate

This creamy chicken pot pie is comforting and delicious. It is one of our all-time favorite dinners and is frequently requested by our friends and family as well.  You are going to want to give this a try!

tomato pie topped with slices of yellow and red tomatoes and fresh basil

This savory tomato pie is a perfect use for ripe juicy tomatoes. It has a bit of cheese and mayo in it, making it the pie version of a summer sandwich classic!

whole feta and spinach pie

Feta and spinach are a perfect filling for this savory spinach and cheese pie. It would make a great lunch with a salad or is a fun decadent on a creamed spinach side!

Sweet Pies

creamy no bake key lime pie with cream cheese whipped cream rosettes and lime zest

This no bake key lime pie is creamy, dreamy and simple to make. A quick graham cracker crust cradles the super easy filling. The cream cheese whipped cream on top is optional, but encouraged!

first slice of toll house pie with gooey chocolate and brown sugar layers being raised from pie

This deep dish toll house pie has more filling than most recipes, making it extra good! It is like a gooey chocolate chip cookie baked into a pie. It was a pi day favorite during my high school years.

whole frozen mint meltaway pie (aka frango mint pie) topped with whipped cream and chopped frango mints

Frozen mint meltaway pie is based on the department store classic, frango mint pie. But this version is updated and doesn't require an ice cream maker! It is a perfectly refreshing pie.

whole coconutty chocolate macaroon pie

Chocolate macaroon pie is another pie and cookie mashup. It is super easy to make and tastes like a gooey coconut brownie when served warm!

peach rhubarb pie with streusel topping and one slice missing

This peach rhubarb pie is a great mix of tart and sweet. The streusel crust brings it all together in a pretty little package.

streusel topped carrot pie with slice missing

If you like the streusel, but want a different filling. This carrot pie is a super fun and different pie.

Taste the tropics with this fun coconut and pineapple pie. It is sure to dance across your taste buds and make you want to do a hula dance!

french silk pie with whipped cream and shaved chocolate

French silk pie always makes me think of my great-grandpa. It is silky and smooth with just enough chocolate. Mmmm!

slice of maple pumpkin pie with whipped cream

Maple pumpkin pie adds a warm maple twist to the classic pumpkin pie. It is great with maple whipped cream or any whipped cream!

slice of old fashioned oatmeal pie (tastes like pecan pie)

Grandma's Oatmeal Pie tastes a lot like pecan pie, but without the pecans! It uses oatmeal and coconut instead. You will be shocked by the final result!

whole zucchini pie (tastes like apple)

Speaking of being shocked, this almost apple pie is made from zucchini. But you'd never know the difference. It tastes just like apple!

slice of cherry pie with fresh whipped cream

It will be tart cherry season soon! Turn some of those cherries into a delicious cherry pie!

fork taking a bite of chocolate custard pie with whipped cream and chocolate chips

Chocolate pudding pie is a classic. This recipe may not be your mama's but it is soooo darn good. You will want to reserve a second slice.

slice of blackberry pie with a big scoop of melty vanilla ice cream

It won't be long before our blackberry bushes are going crazy. We can't wait! There will certainly be a blackberry pie in our future. I've been seeing some great berries and the grocery store though, so we don't have to wait!
