Baked pasta dishes are always popular at our dinner table. This cream beef and noodle casserole is filled with so many favorite flavors.  It is easy to put together and can be assembled ahead of time to make dinner even easier.

Cooking dinner for the family can sometimes be a complicated task. That is especially true when there are picky eaters and busy schedules involved.

Luckily pasta bakes tend to be popular all the way around. They are perfect hearty meals that the whole family loves.

For instance, grandma's chicken and broccoli casserole is layers of egg noodles, chicken, gravy, broccoli and cheese. It is a perfect comfort food, a great way to use leftover chicken or turkey, and is super popular with everyone who tries it.

Baked ziti is another favorite pasta casserole. It's layers of pasta, tomato sauce, meat and cheese are always welcome.

In addition to filling the family up, these casseroles are great because they can all be assembled ahead of time and baked as needed.

That makes them great for busy evenings. It also makes them fabulous as a take and bake for friends or family who had a new baby, are ill, or otherwise need a little help getting dinner on the table.

This casserole is no different.  It is pretty simple to put together and can be baked off whenever you're ready for dinner.

If you are making the casserole ahead of time, just cover and refrigerate until dinner time. Then take the casserole out of the refrigerator before you preheat the oven to take some of the chill off.

You will likely need to add about 10 minutes to the bake time to make sure it is heated through. The sauce should be bubbly all the way around.

This casserole is perfect served with some bread and a side salad or some broccoli. Plus it will fill everyone's belly and put smiles on their faces.

The best part is the leftovers make a perfect reheatable lunch the next day! So you'll be a winner for multiple days!

If you aren't one for leftovers, you could easily divide the casserole between two square casserole dishes.  Bake one now and freeze another for later.

Just defrost the frozen casserole in the refrigerator before baking it off. You'll have a second dinner with almost no effort required.

For even less prep work try my no boil pasta bake.  You don't have to boil the noodles or brown the sausage, just put it all in raw and let the oven do the work!

I have been in a cozy casserole mood lately and have several more recipes in the works to share with you. What are your favorite casserole recipes? I'm always open to more inspiration!

  1. Hi Carlee, I do like a nice pasta bake, it's a perfect comfort food for winter. This recipe reminds me a little of pastitio, maybe because I've been really fancying some! A favourite casserole is difficult to choose, but I do like a nice beef, vegetable and barley stew with proper dumplings... Now I'm fancying that!

    xx
